My Story

I'm Jennifer Fortier, founder of New Leaf Homes Direct.

A few years back, I went through a divorce that upended my finances. My credit took a hit, my options felt narrow, and I remember exactly what it's like to face uncertainty; the dread of opening my mail, or even answering an unknown caller. Not to mention, no money for the repairs my property needed and a mountain of debt.

I know that sometimes homeowners need a way out quickly that doesn't depend on a bank's approval or a buyer who can walk away at the last minute. And avoid making costly improvements or repairs in order to sell traditionally when you're already struggling to get by.

Plus we need a process we can trust with our biggest asset, our home.

I started New Leaf because I wanted to do it right and treat sellers how I'd want to be treated.

Here's The Part That Most Sellers Don't Know

Over the last few years, many "cash for houses" companies have sprung up all over (some of the people calling sellers aren't even located in the US), and in my experiences many of these "cash buyers" aren't buying the homes themselves. They're called Wholesalers.

A Wholesaler doesn't buy your house. They get you in a contract, lock it up under a promise to close in 30 days, then they rush to sell that contract to someone like I am — a "fix and flip" investor, for a fee.

I have personally bought from wholesalers in the past and I learned the hard way how they worked

On one of my deals, the 20K assignment fee was never mentioned to the seller. I was even told to keep quiet about being the real buyer during the transaction.

That's not how I want to go about buying homes nor how I want to treat people. I believe in transparency, and doing right by people in the process.

I've been on both sides of that closing table. New Leaf Homes Direct exists so sellers deal with the actual buyer — not a contract that gets flipped behind their back.

So that's My Story!

I'm also a licensed Florida real estate broker, which means I bring a level of transparency to this process most cash buyers don't.

I know what your home is worth on the open market (as-is or after repairs), what listing it would actually net you, and I'll tell you the truth about which option makes sense — even when that answer is "list it, don't sell it to me." My license isn't a formality here. It's the reason you can trust the number I give you.

If you're ready for a fresh start, I'd love to talk. No pressure, no obligation — just an honest conversation about your options.
